With Aerodrum packing, the pressure on the packing rings at the beginning of the stuffing box is equal to the pressure at the other end. Since the pressure is equal, it promotes equal wear and tear on all parts of the packing and the shaft. This increases the lifespan of both the packing and the shaft when compared to conventional packing, which creates uneven pressure gradients.

Due to non compression packing, less adjustment and maintenance are needed, saving time, labour and money. With less pressure being applied to the shaft, friction and braking resistance are decreased, resulting in less wear and tear on the pump, more ease of operation and less power required to run the pump.

This ultimately decreases costs in maintenance, replacement, output and power usage.
