Lowara Pumps: The Industry Standard for Clean Water Pumps

Back

July 1, 2016 By Mike Hurlbatt

When it comes to pumping clean water, Lowara pumps set the industry standard. Clean water pumps are usually centrifugal pumps that are made for the express purpose of transporting clean water. This makes them a natural for booster pump systems in hotels, hospitals and office buildings.

Lowara Pumps: How They Started

Lowara was established in 1968 in Italy. They now have a 450,000 sqm production facility that employs upward of 800 people. They were bought out by ITT and are now under the umbrella of Xylem, which is the water management division of ITT.

Lowara embraces the ITT and Xylem corporate ethos of kaizen or constant improvement. This results in their products always being “ahead of the curve.” They are not a company that rests on their laurels; they are already working on the next improvement by the time a product is ready for production.

Lowara Pumps for Clean Water

Lowara clean water pumps are built with AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel. This makes them not only appropriate for the clean water industry but for transporting any liquids that must be sanitary. Stainless steel is corrosion resistant, making them appropriate for chemicals that may damage other pumps.

Under normal conditions, centrifugal pumps remain primed at all times. This is helpful when a system is used intermittently instead of continuously.

Lowara pumps are used in many different industries. Besides their hotel, office and food and beverage uses, Lowara centrifugal pumps are also used for irrigation and a host of different commercial and residential markets.
