Slurry Pumps

Back

What is a Slurry Pump

slurry pumpA slurry pump is a class of centrifugal or submersible pump designed for pumping liquid containing solid particles and which may also contain solvents,  acids, alcohols, or petroleum.

Slurry pumps are subject to additional wear and are commonly more robust than other pumps. Slurry pumps can be electrically or hydraulically driven.

Slurry pumps can withstand extensive additional wear as they feature heavy duty construction adding a large impeller diameter, shafts, bearings, and internal dimensions.

Applications for Slurry Pumps

Slurry pumps are used in mining, drainage, agriculture, dredging and Industrial (mineral processing) applications.

Types of Slurry Pump

  • Centrifugal Pump
  • Submersible Pump

Centrifugal Pump

Centrifugal pumps are used to transport fluids by the conversion of rotational kinetic energy to the hydrodynamic energy of the fluid flow. The fluid enters the pump impeller along or near to the rotating axis and is accelerated by the impeller, flowing radially outward into a diffuser or volute chamber (casing), from which it exits.

Common uses include water, sewage, agriculture, petroleum and petrochemical pumping. Centrifugal pumps are often chosen for their high flow rate capabilities, abrasive solution compatibility, mixing potential, as well as their relatively simple engineering.

KETO K-G

Capable of handling large particles at consistently high efficiency, resulting in lower costs. Casing is designed with a large volume internal profile to reduce associated velocities which prolong component life. Designed to pump extremely aggressive slurries with a wide particle distribution.

K-TC VORTEX HORIZONTAL SLURRY PUMP
KETO k-tc pump

KETO K-TC™ vortex pumps are designed for use where slurry particles are fragile and damaging them is detrimental to the process. The vortex created by the impeller transfers energy to the slurry without direct impact from the vanes on the particles. This allows particles to be pumped without damage.
