The Challenge
A heavily corroded and seized Tsurumi 100TRN424 Submersible Aerator, powered by a 24kW, 415V, 3-phase motor, was brought to our service centre in severely deteriorated condition. Damaged electric cables, seized internals, and extensive corrosion left the unit inoperable.
Our Approach
Despite the pump’s appearance, PSA’s experienced technicians recognised the inherent durability of the Tsurumi build—especially with its anti-wicking cable gland technology—and determined that a full refurbishment was both viable and worthwhile.
Our team carried out a comprehensive assessment and proposed a detailed repair plan, which was quickly approved by the client.
Scope of Work
- Replacement of all electric cables, bearings, mechanical seal, standard seals, O-rings, gaskets, and cable glands
- Complete strip-down, component reconditioning, and corrosion treatment
- Full reassembly and quality control inspection
- Operational testing under load in our on-site wet testing facility for 90 minutes to validate performance
The Result
A fully restored aerator ready for continued service—delivering reliable operation for potentially another 15+ years. More importantly, the project avoided the environmental impact of scrapping a large industrial unit, demonstrating PSA’s commitment to sustainability through equipment life extension.
